Will Goodhand hails planning application rejection
The decision to reject an Officer's recommendation was taken after a strong campaign from Will Goodhand and representations from a wide range of objectors which Will thanks and pays tribute to.
Will said “I would like to thank all of those who have made their feelings known on this issue and especially Councillor Philip Thomson who has worked so hard to fight against it along with other local councillors for standing up for residents’ views. Only yesterday, the team was out delivering leaflets along the northern flank of Saltburn along Marske Road and the Wilton Bank Estate and listened to residents’ concerns about this plan which would have landed hundreds of houses on their door steps. It is a great day for local democracy and I will be sharing a sigh of relief with many other residents across Saltburn today.”
The main reasons given for refusal were that the application fell foul of the Local Planning Requirements and was not in the interests of the town of Saltburn itself.
11 Councillors voted against accepting the Application, with 1 abstention.
