Will met with Amanda Skelton last week to discuss some of the issues which have been brought to his attention by residents across East Cleveland. It was a cordial meeting which Will looks forward to having again in the future. Ms Skelton was appreciative of the work being carried out by Will in as far as gathering opinions of the issues which matter to residents across East Cleveland.
Will is to continue reporting monthly on the issues raised through his local residents' surveys and looks forward to future correspondence with Redcar & Cleveland Council.
Will said "I will continue to push Redcar & Cleveland to concentrate more resources on the rest of the borough other than just solely Redcar. The Chief executive was very frank and I appreciate her giving me the time to discuss these issues with her."
There has been a total of nearly £75m spent in Redcar over the recent years however the figure for the East Cleveland side of the borough is much less standing at around £3m. Will said "This clearly needs to change, residents are feeling completely let down and their suspicions are proving correct. I will continue to do what I can to improve this ratio and if elected will be in a better position to be able to effect real change".
